Happy Anniversary, C&G Partners!

It’s a special day. Here’s a short break from the usual.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the founding of C&G Partners, the firm that makes Making the Museum possible.

I’m one of the co-founders and the Managing Partner, so for the day, I’m letting myself be a proud … uh … co-papa.

The firm began in June 2005, a descendant of the well-known New York design studio Chermayeff & Geismar Inc. That firm had started 45 years before. It helped develop what became known as graphic design, and later, also what became known as exhibition design.

(And that’s where our “C” and our “G” come from. Sadly our letters don’t stand for either “creative and good” or “communications and graphics.” But good guess.)

MtM readers will find it no surprise that C&G Partners today does a lot of exhibition planning and design. That’s the largest practice I oversee. My colleagues here also practice related disciplines, including wayfinding, experiential digital, branding, and web.

Why? Huh, that’s the same question our accountant keeps asking. We’ve just smiled for 20 years, and said we like it that way.

Happy Anniversary, C&G Partners!

Warmly,
Jonathan
